BBD start - General Wives

Hello dear Blog friends, trust your new year’s resolutions are up and running because mine are not!! One week into the New Year and I have so many projects in my basket which need finishing, building houses, BOM’s, cross stitch, and "Josephine" by Petra Prins, thanks Bep!

Last year the start of Summer by BBD, I love it and will finish that this year. I also bought the Christmas Garden, so nice but no no no,  first the WIP’s And a book of days 2012 to record them all -)

General Wives is a big project and already I’m in trouble, this “scant” seam was a bit of a mystery to me, but have learned when hand stitching you need to keep that in mind. My first block went a bit wrong there!  I will persevere!

As you can see the seams are out of sync and I will make it again because it doesn't look good!

Building houses from scrap, I will make a start but I don’t think there will be 365, I leave that up to the professionals! Jeanneke mentioned on her blog that she will make them from charm squares, I fished mine out by  3 sisters, Portobello Market. The templates are made, a start at least! Your will find the PDF files on her blog.  Jeanneke has gorgeous patterns too on Etsy!

A few presents because I was good, well sometimes LOL. A lovely Sajou booklet from France, Thank you Paulette!!

 My first old Sajou book!!

Fabric covered boxes bought by my spouse:) The scissors were made in 1953 commemorating the Queens Coronation.

Thank you  followers and non- followers so much over the past year for your lovely comments, they have made and make my day always!!  Wishing you a year of good health, stitching and general optimism in these austere times:))

Oh my gosh, I love your quilt projects! I just love 3 Sisters' fabric lines--they are so pretty. I'll enjoy watching your progress on them and the General Wives' quilt, too!

Wonderful gifts you received! The scissors are so neat, especially with the 60th Jubilee coming up this year.

I need to get started on my BBD Loose Feather--love your WIP pic!

I love your fabric choices for the quilt blocks. You'll get better at them the more you do. They look great already!

I love your gifties too. I have a weakness for boxes like that too.

Your quilt projects are gorgeous!!! The fabrics -- so yummy! The piecing is always a weakness for me. That's why I like English paper piecing and applique. lol! Anyway, gorgeous!! I'm drooling. :D

What gorgeous fabrics in your GW project, Bertie. I am not a quilter, but love looking at others' projects...I'm sure you'll perfect the matching the more you do :)

And those gifts from your husband--wow! I adore those boxes. They're just perfect for a stitcher!

Nice WIPs! Love BOM blocks in particular with pretty fabrics!! I don't see you have to redo them at all, they both look beautiful! BBD's pieces are always my favorites. I'm anxious to see how you are going to build your mini houses. And the gifts from your DH are very nice! You must have trained him very well with your taste!! Good for you!
