Birds of a Feather & Sudeley Castle

Last month I visited Sudeley Castle with friends who visited the UK from New Zealand. A worthwhile visit, here a little taste of what you can expect at Sudeley.  There were a dozen samplers, antique lace, an exhibition of Henry VIII and a wonderful exhibit of textiles.
Have a look at Jacqueline’s blog for more information.

Well I could not refrain myself from starting another SAL!!, it’s the famous Birds of a Feather by WMN&T. I started this last week, the linen is Weeks 35ct Confederate Grey, I am using the recommended threads of WDW, and am stitching the sampler with 1 thread only, it's a truly gorgeous sampler and the linen is fabulous :))

Presents from Holland, a lovely set of tea-and-hand towels and beakers made by Hollandsche Waaren, It looks fabulous in our kitchen. Thanks SB :)) Have a look at this Teatowel from Jeanny too, it's a piece of art and not for drying! Who would not want that in their kitchen:))

My friend send me a thank you note but could not stop herself sending me a present!! It’s a lovely little heart card & ceramic bird heart, thank you Bollers!

This BBD kit is a present from a dear friend, thank you J, I love it, I will make this sometime soon :))

Thank you for your comments on my last post, truly inspiring and so appreciated :o) It's always a pleasure to hear from you!

Leuke theedoeken en die speculaasmokken ook. Super Hollands.
Leuke fotocollaga van het kasteel en ik zie ook mooi borduurwerk van het Openluchtmuseum.
Leuk om hier op je blog weer even rond te kijken.

Your castle visit seems to be very nice and interesting. And your Birds of a Feather SAL looks like coming along very well so far! I especially like the border a lot :)Lucky you to receive a nice gift from your friend. I made that round box one at BBD's workshop a couple of years ago. You will also enjoy making it!!

Thank you for referring me to the helpful blog! I couldn't reply to your email through Blogger, but wanted to answer your inquiry. The linen of the sampler bag is from Scarlet Letter 25 years ago. It was hand dyed and I believe called "persimmon" but I'm not sure. It's more of a rust shade, but softer, really hard to describe! Thanks again!
