On Saturday the weather was so good I had to work in the garden. The snowdrops are scattered in our garden, and the daffodils are dying to get out.
A few cheery pictures on this sunny day, did not last long.
Boy did I ache on Sunday, so when it bucketed down, I was quite happy to sit and finish my SSNC, stitching was all done in 2005-06, but the finishing was too daunting then. Because I made a mistake by not stitching the pincushion area in the middle, I figured that sewing a band around it to make it look like a mattress would do the trick, it did work out quite well but a lot of backstitching had to be done. I certainly would not have thought of it 6 years ago!
Otherwise the rest was easy to assemble and just in time for Valentine ’s Day, the verse is so appropriate. May your Valentine wish come true today and have a good one :))
For you PB

A better view for the mattress.
My friend Michele who lives between the USA and Doha send me these gorgeous scissors, the leather falcon hood she found on a Falconry market in Doha and the Lovely Milkmaid in PA, love it!, Thank you Michele, hope your Paris l'Aguille en fete trip was very good!! Looking at Cote Passion’s blog is was fabulous:) and now regret that I did not go, but we cannot have our cake and eat it too:)) who on earth thought that one up, it's not in my dictionary .)
In the meantime I did start a very tiny sampler with gorgeous silks. I am not a big fan of silk, it always seems to hang on my fingers, unless I sit down for a manicure.
It’s from the Remember Me series designed by Historic Stitches, Williamsburg Lady, Williamsburg a city which I would love to visit one day.
Thank you for your wonderful comments, you guy’s make my day:)) Also a big Hello to my Followers, I do know you’re there and appreciate it very much!! Doing this blogging nearly 2 years now it never ceases to amaze me how interested you are in my stitching world, a big thank you:))

Your Merry Cox project is just amazing!!! Wow.
It's hard to think of working in the garden ... we still have a couple of feet of snow on the ground and it was snowing again when I fed the chickens their dinner tonight. Yikes!
Oh my! Your strawberry needlecase is wonderful! I love your new WIP too -- it's beautiful! I can't believe you already have lovely spring flowers coming out so much! We just have tons of snow on the ground. Less than before, but it's still all there. Not a sign of the ground showing through. lol!
enough on the snowdrops and daffs. Yet more snow today ) at least its only 3 degrees, not -25) with more on the way. This is when Canadians get cabin fever....we will not get a hint of spring foe another month....Grrrr
Congratulations on such a beautiful finish ;-)
I do not understand what you meant about the mattress pincushion on your Merry Cox proeject, since I made a mattress for mine when I did it, which is what I thought you were supposed to do. Love the Spring flower photos, the Hellebore looks lovely.
You always amaze me at how fast you stitch, this looks gorgeous, oh my, I love it!!! Love the scissors, I collect them so when I see some I always get excited..what shape are those ones? I can't tell from the picture, but they look adorable, nice gift!!!
I have some silk threads but I haven't used them before...are they hard to use? Of course if I was a better stitcher I would probably know!!!!
Hugs,
Margaret B

I like your new start, and the gift from your friend!
I enjoyed the pics of the flowers just starting to pop up. I saw daffodil greens popping up and am SO glad to see the signs of Spring, and the longer days set in a bit.
Fijne week, lieve groet Willy

Thanks for sharing your lovely garden photos. We're still buried in snow and won't be seeing any activity in our gardens for at least 6 or more weeks.
Beautiful MC finish! Melody

Oh my gosh, Bertie! I Love your needlebook! It is so pretty - your stitching is so perfect and your finishing is, too.
Your flowers are so pretty - no grass, flowers or leaves to be seen here, yet!
The milk maid pincushion is so wonderful!!! And the falcon cap for a scissor fob is darling!
