The autumn colours are so beautiful, last week I took some pictures before the storm takes the leaves away. There are a lot of Berry’s for the birds who will arrive when it gets really cold and will disappear in a day!
Now I look at it , I should really prune it a bit, but after the berry's are eaten!.
Only the second time I see these colours so bright in the past years when the summer has been good.
-----------------------------------
A few of my Acorns, real ones, silver, gold and stitched, just because it’s autumn -)
I bought the Artifacts oak leaves & acorns (1981) on Ebay.
The real acorns are from an American Oak tree, found on my walks in Germany.

My thumb has healed so I have managed to stitch a bit on my “Carried Away” by Jackie du Plessis.
It is a lovely project, I did get to tackle the Loop stitch Sandra! , took me a while to get it!! The rest of the stitching is quite easy I think, well will see when I start the needle case.

This week I received the Pinkeep Story by SOF & Gigi for Unicef, it is wonderful, you can also buy it on PDF!!
and today the Blackbird Design “Garden Club”, such wonderful projects, for stitcher’s too :) a must, but I am probably preaching to the converted LOL. Included is the needleroll by BBD, and some fabulous appliqué quilts.
The Goode Huswif "Love"
a small ornament in the making.
Next week I will fly to The Netherlands, do a little walking & retail shopping with my friends in the east and to see my family in the west. I do look forward to that and fingers xx for good weather.
Thank you all so much for the comments on my “Darning & Sampler” post, I have learned something more on the history of my samplers :) Have a great weekend.

Ah, what a lovely post, Bertie. So much to see! Your acorn collection is lovely, and so is your new stash. I've never seen that Goode Huswife design, and I think it's charming.
Your house looks SO lovely, Much better than anything you could get in the Netherlands. If you have time, we should meet some day!
Beautiful fall pictures! Enjoy your time here in Holland.
Heel mooie herfstkleuren !!
Het boekje Pinkeep Story heb ik ook in mijn bezit. Is echt de moeite waard en voor een goed doel.
Veel plezier in ons landje volgende week.
Groetjes, Jeanny.
I love the autumn colors!!! I love your different acorns, too! And the carried away project seems awesome!! A project I had dreamt to stitch... but one day, I'll do a Jackie Du Plessis project ;-)I can be very patient.
And The Garden Club book by BBD!!! Can you tell me a bit more about it ? Looks very tempting... does it come with extra time to do every project we dream of stitching ???? :-))
What a lovely post!!! Love the color on your bush! Love all your acorns -- so beautiful! Your Love finish is so pretty -- I want to stitch all of that series. And your stash! Yum! I love that Carried Away piece so much. I'll be happy to watch your progress with it! Glad your thumb is feeling better!
Nice colors of autumn! I love the GH "Love" piece...can't wait to see the finishing on this one.
I was just saying to Alastair the other day that I think the Autumn colours are really spectacular this year, must be because it has been very dry. Love your acorns and your stitched pieces are really inspiring. Have a great time on holiday.
Look at those wonderful colours! Lovely acorn collection and your 'carried away' piece is taking shape to be a beauty. Love your GH WIP and some very nice stash you've added. Enjoy your trip!
I loved seeing your berry pics. Haven't the colors been amazing this year? It's so nice to see them. We had gale force winds twice in the last five days so most of the leaves are gone now. Your stitching is fantastic! I love your acorn collection, and the stash enhancement, too. Enjoy your trip!
Lovely to see your autumn colours Bertie - I feel really perked up! Does a lot of berries mean a mild or cold winter - I can't remember which way round it is?
Love, J
Hi Bertie, what a losvely post : All your photos are really nice and you have great stitching projects .
Have a great day,
Isa
Hi Bertie, Thanks for leaving me a lovely comment. I was going to reply back to you, then found there is no email address I can talk to you. Anyhow, I browsed though your blog and it took for awhile to finish as it's filled with gorgeous work and your antique collection!! Your work is stunning! I still haven't my copy of BBD's new book, but I'll have to get that on, too :) I'd love to make that cute acorn for next fall for sure!! Thanks for great inspiration.
I just got my copy of BBD's new book and enjoying every page of it!! It's so hard to be in-between stitching and quilting. Tough life we are on! lol
